Afghan Placement Act (Surge Project)

Afghan Placement Act (Surge Project)

Afghan Home has actively been involved supporting Operation Allies Welcome from day one of its inceptions. Afghan Home USA board members and volunteers have dedicated weeks and hours to helping recent evacuees and will remain committed to providing support services in this noble cause through different means whether supporting in the reception and resettlement of Afghan evacuees and refugees, collecting donations, organizing cultural programs, providing translation services, or coordinating activities with all involved organizations and stakeholders to support our community better. Afghan Home USA was established for the very reason to help support Afghans living in the DMV area and beyond and serve as an umbrella organization for Afghans in the DMV area and beyond.

Afghan Home USA has partnered with the Virginia Council of Muslim Organizations (VCMO) and Muslim Association of Virginia (MAV) and Afghan Refugee Crisis Committee(AARC) in Northern Virginia to support the resettlement agencies’ efforts aimed at promoting the resettlement and self-sufficiency of Afghan evacuees and refugees through the Staff Surge Support Project. Through this subcontract, Afghan Home USA has hired one project manager and three case aids who are embedded in the Lutheran Social Services office in Woodbridge, VA supporting the resettlement efforts and continues to do an excellent job supporting the surge project.
